Marae reading questions for our EOTC week project. This one is about answering
questions from an article. Link

Questions:


1) Where did Cath Brown grow up? Taumutu. What roles did she hold? Weaver, chair
of Te Taumutu Rūnanga and Upoko and Maori artist


2) What type of art did Cath make? Weaved art. How do you know she was successful at it? She was very respected.


3) Where is the marae located? Gullivers Rd, Southbridge 7683. What does the land around it look like?

4) What does mahinga kai mean? The production of food.
What do you think they ate? Vegetables and healthy foods


5) What is Ngāti Moki Marae built on? Flatland.

6) What is the Awhitu House? The Awhitu house is a house that got set on fire in 2003.  Awhitu House is an 1870’s building, which linked with Taumutu marae, burnt to the ground in Taumutu, Christchurch.
