The Water Cycle

For writing the last weeks we had to write about the water cycle this
is my writing

The Hydrologic cycle is the same as the water cycle. The water cycle
is what makes all the weather thats wet happen

Water gets heated by the sun and turns into gas, then that gas floats
into the air and gets condensed and makes a cloud. The water vapor
turns into water droplets.

The weather can vary between, Rain, Hail and Snow after that It all
melts over again and evaporates into clouds and then the water cycle
starts over again.

Buddhist Temple

Going to the Buddha Temple

On May the 22nd the year 8 classes went to a Buddha temple to practice 3G4G. When we got there we got spoken to by a man that was volunteering at the temple. The first activity my group did was to make a lotus flower from paper, the lotus flower grows from a seed in the mud the flower can grow in the chinese gardens or lakes. It can Grow through the dirtiest water as well. After we did that we had to bathe the Buddha in water when we did that we had to half bow to the Buddha and pour water over him. When we did his right shoulder we had to say different things from the 3G4G then we had some food and water

How A Tsunami Is Formed

How A Tsunami Is Formed

The way a tsunami is formed from tectonic plates sliding, volcanic eruptions and underwater landslides. Then that pulls gravity up and the water goes with it above the normal sea level then crashes down with waves under water and hits the shore with a huge wave that make the tsunami. Tsunamis are very deadly as the wave get to over 100 ft high (over 30 m) and can have speeds of up to over 500 mph (over 800 kmh). There is also a trough and a crest in the waves. The trough is the lower part of a wave and the crest is the higher part. Tsunamis can go very far in shore so it would be safe to run as far and fast as possible. In some places they put walls or safety barriers.

My Recount Writing

Recount Writing

On the 17th of January me my brother and my mum woke up early to get ready for our flight to Auckland, it was hard because we woke up a bit late and it was so early. We were going to Auckland because we wanted to go to the sky tower and everything that is an attraction.

When me my brother and my mum were getting on the plane my brother kept saying will the plane crash’ them me and my mum kept saying no not even possible.

When we landed we got of and got our bags then got a rental car and drove to rainbows end for the day then went to our campgrounds and just stayed there for the rest of the day.

The next day we went in the pool at the campgrounds. Me and my brother did paper scissors rock to see who would get in the pool first because it was cold and we both didn't want to get in.
After that the plane was going to leave in 2 hours so we packed everything and went to the airport to leave to Christchurch and get home.

Reflection:
I think that I created an interesting piece of writing because… It was writing about something that was new to me
For next time I could spend more time on…writing it rather than thinking about what to write

In my writing, I would like to improve… detail because I don't think that I had much of that in this writing
